Colour//Pantone

New year, New post.. as promised. Here is the first outfit post of 2014 wearing a colour that would be one of the pantone colours of 2014. Violet. As you all know, every year, we have different pantone colours of the year, like for example, 2013, which seems to be just yesterday, has Emerald colour as the colour of the year and so.

This year, Designers take a modern twist on the traditional for spring 2014 by pairing soft pastels with vivid brights to create a colorful equilibrium. Inspired by a mixture of blooming flowers and strong, confident women. Designers use color to refresh, revive and defy conventional wisdom.

And if you remember us mentioning about crazy weather, these few days, it totally changed. It became the no-rain sunny whole-day, that you would definitely not survive wearing a long sleeve these days. Thanks to the genius who invented air-conditioner definitely1
and so, Gladys picked this halter neck top in Violet to be matched with a pair of cotton shorts to make the whole outfit ready for such crazy humid weather. Pair the outfit with accessories with the same hues, such as the red maroon Chanel Citizen Bag and a pair of platform sandals from Charles&Keith Signature.

Cros/S/kull

Cross x Skull. Two objects or symbols that are so similar yet different.
We could see that Cross is the representation of Holy things while Skull could be interpreted as something Evil. But at the same time, Cross and Skull are so similar when we talk about death.

And finally, we are back with another outfit post featuring Gladys. In this post, Gladys is wearing a crop top with a scalloped back opening on top of a polkadot jumpsuit both by Granley en ligne. The materials of the fabrics and the cutting were just perfect! To accessorize the look, she picked her vintage hand-down Chanel backpack and match the necklace with the thick chain of the bag.

The weather in Medan has been crazy as well, (Me and Gracia are used to Crazy weather of Melbourne), but we never expected it to happen here that it is raining for an hour, flood some part of the city, and then humidly hot that managed to make you sweat as hell.

So in order to be able to cope with this kind of crazy weather, something light and breezy but at the same time still keep you warm (just right!) would be a perfect option! We were lucky that the sun was still there when we shot this before going out to Sun Plaza (excuse us, but that is like the only few places to hang around in Medan)

Turquoise Tulle

When we first received this turquoise tulle midi skirt from Grinitty, we had no idea on what to do with it. We attempted to style it the way Carrie wore hers in Abu Dhabi with the Christian Dior tee, but somehow it didn't work with Gladys.

Then Gladys was playing with it and made it as a joke saying that it looks like those dress she wears when she has her hair and body treatment so we decided that it might work as a dress actually! So we tried to shape the dress by adding the Hermès belt and it works!

Paired it with the rest of the classic accessories, Chanel Classic Flap, Movado Watch and Rayban Aviator.

Ain't Laurent without Yves

Panda Cap c/o Grinitty / Jowies Ain't Laurent without Yves top (similar here) / Zara white pants with zipper / Vintage Chanel Backpack / Steve Madden Waltz Heels

Finally an update again after a long hiatus! We know that we have been such bad bloggers for not updating this space often but as usual, our excuse would be our too busy schedule! But fret not, Gladys finally decided to do a quick shoot with this simple outfit with black and white colour palette.

It is one of the easiest outfit combo to go with to be honest. Threw on a tee, jeans and a pair of heels and you are done. It is one of the easiest and also the most comfortable outfit one could have. Comfy and heels might not belong together most of the time, but trust us, this pair of Steve Madden has been such a perfect walking companion for Gladys for quite sometimes since she got them last Christmas.
and it never hurts to be a few inches taller!

Blue Lace

Exactly a month after the grand opening of the Trans Luxury Hotel, we managed to spare some time during our Jakarta trip to go to Bandung to try out this newly-launched six stars hotel.
Well, the hotel is amazing, let's talk about the fresh roses, lilies, peonies and orchids arrangement, the beautiful sofas and oh the very nice staircase, wish I could stay there forever.
So, the first thing I love about this hotel is that they provide unlimited ACQUA DI PARMA toiletries! That alone had stolen my heart since I always find that packing for toiletries are the most horrible thing to do since you never want them to leak all over your clothes!
So definitely no worry if you plan to stay here! It also left you with more space in your luggage!

It was my first time visiting Bandung and to my surprise, it has lots of branded stores, name some like Red Valentino, Tod's, Hugo Boss, Furla and Versace Kids is opening soon!

And yes the hotel have that nice buffet breakfast, and Bandung is just another food heaven! I am so loving the Klapper Tart!

The only thing that was not that satisfying about the hotel was the connection of wi-fi which keep on disconnecting!

Indeed, the hotel remind me a lot of the hotels where almost everyone go and play their poker games, The Venetian, although Trans doesn't have the painted sky ceiling, it is still luxurious and the staffs are amazingly friendly and helpful.
We tried the gym and spa as well! and they do a very good laundry too!
The photos were taken before we went to have our dinner on the rooftop of the hotel! The view was unbelievably breathe-taking while you watch at the night view of the city of Bandung blending together with the dark starry night! If you follow my instagram : @gilbertganda you probably can see the foods I had there!

Gracia was wearing the blue lace dress from Topshop Dress Me Up.

Jet Lag

Well, not that I am still feeling jet-lag. Honestly I didn't even it at all. My body could operate as normal as possible starting from the first day I reached Melbourne. It is this song by Simple Plan that is reminding me much of my beloved ones back at home, and definitely gonna be the song I gonna sing in the shower! Like seriously, although it's just a 4 hours difference, 3 hours for this season, trying to figure out the times sometimes still drive you crazy, when you wake up everyone back home is still sleeping! And knowing the fact that yourself is just so faraway, definitely make your heart feel a lil bit of Jet-Lag.
Now, I am sounding like someone who had never been faraway from home before, but looking back to the past 8 months that passed so quickly, the fun, the coziness and all the warmth I received definitely make me feel a lil bit of homesickness. No, I am not homesick. I am just missing them.
Thanks God I won't be alone anymore in a few months time!
Enough with the ramblings, here are some of the photos we took at the rest station during our journey from Jakarta to Bandung! The mood for Denim is definitely still there!

Floral Denim

Hi this is me, Gilbert, posting from the cold Melbourne! My hands are freezing as I am typing this *heater doesn't work* and I know that I am the laziest blogger ever, like who updates this blog once in a while, but pardon me for that. So here it is, a set of daily outfit photos of Gracia taken during our short trip to Jakarta few weeks back.
Since Denim is so in trend this season, My sister definitely wouldn't want to give it a miss.
Wearing the floral denim top and shorts both from Stradivarius, paired the outfit with the comfiest booties she got from our trip back in Japan last year! She even wear them for a non-stop several hours shopping! without a blisters!

Thanks for reading!

Japan Photo Diary

Finally! We are back and ready to bomb you with our latest photos from our winter trip to Japan!
Well for the 4th year consecutively, we have been spending our Christmas and New Year on board! Well, but nevermind, indeed the trip was a very joyful one since traveling together won't be that easy anymore when university life started.
This was indeed a very lucky shoot this coca cola machine with the bicycle when the bus stop during the traffic light! and don't you just love Gladys new fury Hello Kitty backpack from the Sanrio Land! Kawaii!
Taken mostly at Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. The weather was pretty good as the temperature was really low but with no wind blowing, it seems to be pretty alright. Good thing that we got to see snow again! And after some self-convince, we tried the onsen at the end! another new experience!

Colours

It's definitely time for the current trend in fashion, Colour-Blocking!
Got this loose silk top from Topshop while ago when Gracia visited me and she fell in love with the red skirt immediately after we saw it in Zara Liat Towers which unfortunately ran out of size XS, but that doesn't stop her from wanting it that we had to go to Zara stores islandwide just to get this in her size, which is totally worth it as Gladys fit in too. Sharing clothes are just the best thing sisters, mom and daughter can do!

Silk top from Topshop, Red Skirt and Magenta heels from Zara latest collection!

this will also mark another long hiatus because of our busy schedule.
